Student Who Exposed Catholic Teacher's Abortion Work Expelled

Sacramento, CA (LifeNews.com) -- Earlier this month, a Catholic school in California won praise from pro-life advocates for firing a teacher who volunteered at a Planned Parenthood abortion business. Now, the student whose mother exposed the teacher's activities has been expelled from the school.
Katelyn Sills, a sophomore at Loretto High School in southern California, says she has been expelled from the Catholic school because she and her mother exposed the pro-abortion activities of the school's drama teacher.

Sills, who is 15, says she received an express mail letter on Saturday detailing her expulsion.

"As of Saturday, October 29th, I was given official notice by express mail that I am expelled from Loretto High School," Sills said. "This was given completely without forewarning, without a meeting, and without a chance to say goodbye."

Sills and her family may be pursuing legal action against the school.

"My family is now seeking legal advice, and more details will follow," she explained Monday.

Earlier this month, Bishop William Wiegand dismissed Marie Bain from the all girls Loretto High School when he learned of her pro-abortion volunteer work.

Katharyn McLearan of Planned Parenthood told KTXL-TV that the development was "very disappointing." She admitted that Bain volunteered for the abortion business once a week to help women get past protesters and inside the abortion facility.

"It's very daunting to have people yelling at you and she was here to be a friendly face. She would wear a planned parenthood vest, just really welcome them in," McLearan told the Fox station.

However, KTXL reports that Bishop Wiegand's dismissal order said Bain's "public participation in the procurement of abortions is morally inappropriate and unacceptable."

"We can't have it," added Dom Puglisi, Catholic Schools superintendent.

Puglisi said teachers at the schools are welcome to their own private beliefs on hotly contested issues but their public actions can't be diametrically opposed to the teachings of the Catholic Church.

"Parents have made a commitment to send their children to a catholic school so they have certain expectations on us," he told KTXL.

The 64,000.00 question:

Why in God's Holy Nmae was the student expelled? Inconsistant with the discipline of the teacher.

I get the impression that this teacher's involvement with Planned Parenthood may not have been all that "unknown". Once the teacher was exposed, someone who supports her cause put the Kaibash on the student's future at the school.

Perhaps she should enroll at Christ the King College.
